Bridges is a joint project of the Young Earth Scientists (YES) Network and the Earth Science Matters (ESM) Foundation in the framework of their Partnership Agreement.
BRIDGES explores and addresses challenges faced by two distinct Geoscience generations; 1) early career geoscientists entering the decision-making process of mainstream geoscientific decision-making on future research and outreach topics and 2) retired geoscientists who wish to stay connected with the geoscience infrastructure and be informed about new research activities. The project designs options to bring both groups and their challenges together while adding value and providing recommendations for concrete actions at all levels.
Upon positive response by the leaderships and participants of the 3rd Congress of the YES Network and the CAG25 held in August 2014 in Dar es Salaam, and encouraged by the support as promised by the Tanzanian Government through its Minister of Energy and Resources, a Pilot Project for the BRIDGES Project will be conducted with prime focus on Tanzania.
More information on the BRIDGES Pilot Project (BPP) can be found on the ESM website at : http://earthsciencematters.org/.
Future Bridges iniatives by the YES Network are under preparation and more information will be released soon.
